About Marisa S. Evangelista
Marisa Sheena Evangelista (b. 1998) was born in Thailand, but for most of her life, she grew up in Maryland, USA. She has a long term goal of exploring implied narratives that exist beyond her paintings and enjoys work that echos a sense of mystery. Marisa explores her ideas through traditional media (oils & acrylics) and digital media (Procreate App on iPad). In addition to portrait and figure painting, she also enjoys plein air painting.
Marisa received her Painting BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in the Fall of 2020. She has since exhibited in several spaces, such as a two person exhibition at the American Poetry Museum in 2021, All Around Anne Arundel at the BWI Airport in 2024, and has received awards such as 2nd Place in the Easton Plein Air Quick Draw Competition in 2024, and People's Choice for Art on the Avenue (Public Artist Category) in Paint Annapolis 2025.
She is represented by Benfield Gallery in Severna Park.
